The moment that you’ve all been waiting for is here! The untethered jailbreak for the iPhone 4S and iPad 2 has been released! Support for Mac and Windows is available.
Jailbreak Your iPhone 4S or iPad 2
iPhone 4S – You must be running iOS 5.0 or the 4S version of 5.0.1
iPad 2 – You must be running iOS 5.0.1
- Download GreenPois0n Absinthe 0.2 for Mac | Windows | Linux (Coming soon)
- Unzip and run the app “Absinthe.”
- Follow the directions.
- Once you get to the message, “Almost done…,” find and open the “Absinthe” icon.
- If nothing happens after about 30 seconds, go to “Settings” and you should see an option labeled “VPN.” Turn it on.
- You should get a “VPN Connection” error saying a connection error occurred. Click OK.
- In about 10-30 seconds, your device will reboot.
- You should now see a Cydia device on one of your home screens.
- Enjoy!
Do Not Upgrade!
Once the next version of iOS is released (iOS 5.0.2), do not upgrade your device. You will lose your jailbreak if and when you do.
